One of the best features of the public events in Japan is the inevitable presence of stalls, selling all manner of food, drink and trinkets. These seem to turn up almost everywhere, always with an almost universally consistent stand design.
As well as fries, yakitori (kebab sticks), drinks, fried chicken and such... there's usually also octopus and squid on skewers. These stalls have had everything from toys to masks for children, and even video-games and living fish. They usually turn up in vast quantities, and - while usually pricey - they're well worth a walk through.
